Meet Your Counselor to Better
Days and a Great Life

As having sought out counseling myself, I know the first question you’re asking yourself is “what qualifies her to help me?”. Besides my education, it’s that I’ve walked down a similar path as you’re on now. I am a recovering addict. I have used alcohol, cigarettes, food, and drugs to help me cope with the challenges I faced in life. Thankfully, I found my path to better days and now I want to share what I learned along my journey to help you create your own path to a great life.

We are probably similar in many other ways as well. I am someone’s child, sister, wife, parent, aunt, friend, etc. I have been married and divorced. I have worked as an employee and been my own boss. I have tried to overcome my challenges alone and with the help of others.

The counseling I provide comes from a combination of professional education, personal experience, and my own journey to recovery. I will share the path I took to learn new coping mechanisms that allowed me to leave old habits and poor coping skills in the past.

My goal is to walk with you through the process of recovery to find your true happiness and peace. My professional experience includes social work in the areas of trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), addictions, mental health disorders, and many other challenges of life. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and groups dealing with the challenges of life to improve the quality and strength of their personal growth, relationships with others, and enhance their skills to deal with the challenges they are facing.

The therapy I provide is diverse and customized for your needs. A few of the techniques often used, include: Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). View additional therapy techniques available through my counseling.

For more than a decade, I have provided counseling services to individuals and couples in mid-Michigan, the Midland community, and Great Lakes Bay Region. I earned two degrees in social work – Bachelor's from Saginaw Valley State University and a Master's from Wayne State University. Since 2004, I have been a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

When you're ready to take the first step on the path to better days, I’m ready to walk with you on your journey to your great life. Contact my office at (989) 839-2292 or send me an e-mail.
